Feeling the Difference in Scale

Making small works feels very different from making large ones. When I try to turn a small image into a large painting, it sometimes feels empty. There isn’t enough detail to support the space. This made me think about how I used to feel when I stood in front of large artworks at museums. Facing this difficulty has helped me see art again, gently and from a new point of view.
